How it started
Built on listening to clients
When Margarita Ortiz started Citywide Maintenance Services more than 30 years ago, she kept hearing the same complaints from businesses about their cleaning companies: the quality was poor, details were missed, and their needs were not being handled the way they should be.
She listened, and she saw an opportunity to do it differently. Citywide was built on that idea — listen to the client, pay attention to the details, and make quality and customer satisfaction the priority. For many years that approach made Citywide one of New York City’s most successful cleaning companies.
Today, much of the industry competes on price alone. Citywide has chosen a different direction: we work for the businesses that still value high-quality, dependable, professional cleaning, and we price our proposals clearly for the work that standard requires.
