Quick answer
What does Citywide's office cleaning include?
Citywide Maintenance Services' standard office cleaning in Manhattan and across New York City covers trash and recycling removal, vacuuming and spot-cleaning carpets, sweeping and mopping hard floors, interior glass, restroom cleaning and restocking, kitchen and break-room cleaning, dusting and polishing, and disinfecting high-touch fixtures. Visits are scheduled daily, several nights a week or weekly, depending on how the office is used.
A clean office is part of how your business is judged
Clients notice the reception desk, the conference room and the restroom long before they notice anything else. Employees notice the kitchen, the trash bins and the carpet under their desks. When those spaces are consistently clean, nobody thinks about them — which is exactly the point.
Citywide builds each office program around how your space is actually used: how many people are in the office and on which days, where traffic concentrates, which rooms clients see, and what your building requires of outside vendors. The result is a written scope your office manager can hold us to.
What our standard office cleaning covers
Our basic office package includes more than many companies expect, because this is what it takes to keep a working office in good order:
- Emptying trash and recycling, replacing liners
- Vacuuming carpets and spot-cleaning visible stains
- Sweeping and mopping hard floors
- Cleaning interior windows and glass partitions
- Cleaning and disinfecting restrooms and fixtures
- Restocking paper products and soap
- Cleaning kitchens, pantries and break rooms
- Dusting and polishing desks, ledges and reception surfaces
- Wiping down high-touch points: door handles, switches, shared equipment
How often should your office be cleaned?
Frequency depends on headcount, visitors and the type of space. These are common starting points we refine during the walkthrough:
| Office profile | Common schedule |
|---|---|
| Light-duty office, few visitors | Once or twice a week |
| Hybrid office with busy anchor days | Nightly on in-office days, lighter visit midweek |
| Client-facing office, daily meetings | Every night, Monday to Friday |
| Large or multi-floor tenant | Nightly cleaning plus periodic floor and carpet care |
Who cleans your office matters
Office cleaning usually happens after hours, often with keys, alarm codes and access to sensitive areas. Every Citywide cleaner is a Citywide employee. We do not subcontract any of our work, we run background checks on every employee we hire, and our staff are trained in our own procedures and arrive in uniform.
Citywide is bonded and carries full liability and workers’ compensation insurance — the coverage most Manhattan building managers ask to see before a vendor is approved.

How we start an office cleaning program
- 01
Walkthrough
We visit the office, note surfaces, traffic and building rules, and ask how the space is used week to week.
- 02
Written proposal
You receive a clear scope and schedule with upfront pricing and no hidden fees.
- 03
Onboarding
We coordinate access, insurance paperwork and any building orientation before the first night.
- 04
Checklists and inspections
Crews work from detailed checklists, and we inspect and ask for your feedback so standards hold over time.
Specialty work, one vendor
Offices also need work that falls outside the nightly routine. Citywide provides deep carpet cleaning, hard floor stripping, waxing and buffing, exterior window washing and cleaning after office renovations, so you can add periodic services to the same program instead of managing several vendors.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Straight answers to the questions facility and office managers ask us most.
Have a question that is not here? Call (917) 842-4644 or request a proposal.
Do you clean offices after business hours?
Yes. Most office cleaning is done in the evening or overnight so it does not interrupt your team. Citywide has crews available around the clock, so we can also work early mornings or weekends if your building or schedule requires it.
Are your office cleaners employees or subcontractors?
Every cleaner is a Citywide employee. We do not subcontract any of our work, and we perform background checks on every employee we hire.
Are you insured and bonded?
Yes. Citywide is bonded and carries full liability and workers' compensation insurance. If your building or management company needs a certificate of insurance naming specific parties, tell us during the proposal stage.
Can the schedule change if our office is only busy a few days a week?
Yes. Many offices now have anchor days. We can clean nightly on busy days and schedule a lighter visit on quieter days, and adjust as your occupancy changes.
Do you supply cleaning products?
Yes. We bring our own professional equipment and use environmentally friendly cleaning products in all of our work. Restroom paper and soap restocking can be included in the scope.
