Quick answer

How does Citywide clean commercial chandeliers?

Citywide Maintenance Services cleans crystal chandeliers and specialty light fixtures in Manhattan and New York City lobbies, showrooms, boutiques and event venues. Each fixture is photographed and documented before work starts, power is switched off in coordination with building management, and crystals and components are cleaned by hand and returned to their original positions. Citywide does not perform electrical work.

Why chandeliers go dull

A chandelier in a lobby or showroom sits in the air everyone breathes. Dust, city grime, kitchen vapor in restaurants and residue from heating and cooling settle on every crystal and arm. The fixture still lights up, but it scatters less light, looks flat in photos and makes an otherwise polished space feel slightly tired.

Because chandeliers hang high and look delicate, they are often skipped in routine cleaning for years. A careful periodic clean brings back the sparkle the fixture was chosen for, which matters most in luxury retail, showrooms, hotel-style lobbies and venues where the ceiling is part of the design.

How a chandelier clean is carried out

The process is deliberately slow and documented. Speed is not the goal; getting every piece back in the right place is.

  1. Assess and plan

We review the fixture, its height, its materials and access during a walkthrough, and agree the date and timing with you.

  2. Document

The fixture is photographed from several angles, and the arrangement of crystals and components is recorded before anything is touched.

  3. Power off

Power to the fixture is switched off in coordination with building management or your electrician before cleaning begins.

  4. Clean by hand

Crystals, glass and metal parts are cleaned with methods suited to each material, and returned to their documented positions.

  5. Review with you

Once complete and power is restored by the appropriate party, we walk through the result with you.

Fixtures we clean

  • Crystal chandeliers

Traditional and contemporary crystal fixtures in lobbies, boutiques and private event spaces.

  • Glass and pendant fixtures

Blown-glass pendants, beaded fixtures and decorative glass clusters common in showrooms and restaurants.

  • Metal and specialty fixtures

Brass, bronze, chrome and mixed-material fixtures cleaned with products suited to the finish.

  • Sconces and accent lighting

Wall sconces and smaller decorative fixtures, often cleaned in the same visit.

Scheduled around your business

Chandelier cleaning needs a clear floor underneath, the fixture switched off and time to work without rushing. In a boutique, showroom or venue, that usually means before opening, after closing or on a day without events. Citywide crews are available around the clock, so we plan the visit around launches, private appointments and event calendars.

Businesses often schedule chandelier cleaning ahead of a seasonal display change, a store opening, a major event or the holiday period, when the space is photographed and visited most. Planning the date early also gives building management time to arrange access, power shut-off and any rules for work in the lobby.

What we confirm before the visit

A short list of details agreed in advance keeps the work safe and predictable:

  • Fixture type, materials and any manufacturer care guidance you have
  • Who switches power off and restores it, and when
  • Access to the fixture and any building rules for work at height
  • Clearing or protecting furniture and displays underneath
  • Timing that avoids customers, appointments and events
  • Any existing damage or missing pieces, recorded before work starts

Care and accountability

Valuable fixtures call for staff you can trust. Every Citywide cleaner is a Citywide employee, background-checked and trained in our procedures; we do not subcontract any of our work. Citywide is bonded and carries full liability and workers’ compensation insurance. Our clients have included luxury fashion and beauty brands, where presentation is judged daily. You can read what clients have said on our testimonials page.

Chandelier cleaning pairs well with marble and stone floor polishing and storefront glass cleaning when a lobby or boutique is being prepared for an important season. Booking them together means one walkthrough, one schedule and one crew responsible for how the space looks.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers to the questions facility and office managers ask us most.

Have a question that is not here? Call (917) 842-4644 or request a proposal.

Do you do electrical work on chandeliers?

No. Citywide cleans fixtures only. Switching power off and on, replacing wiring or making electrical repairs are coordinated with building management or your electrician.

Do you take the chandelier down to clean it?

Most fixtures are cleaned in place. Where crystals or components are removed for cleaning, they are documented first and returned to their recorded positions. The approach is agreed during the walkthrough.

How do you reach high fixtures?

Access depends on the fixture's height and the space below it. We assess access requirements during the walkthrough and confirm them, along with any building rules, before scheduling the work.

How often should a chandelier be cleaned?

It depends on the environment. Fixtures near entrances, kitchens or busy lobbies dull faster than those in quiet rooms. Many businesses schedule cleaning periodically and before key seasons or events.

Can you clean other fixtures and glass on the same visit?

Yes. Sconces, pendant lights, mirrors and display glass can be included, so the space is ready at once.
