Quick answer
Does Citywide clean offices in the Financial District?
Yes. Citywide Maintenance Services provides commercial cleaning throughout the Financial District, from Wall Street, Broad Street and Water Street office towers to Battery Park City and the Brookfield Place area. Citywide crews handle nightly office cleaning, weekend projects, floor and carpet care, and post-renovation cleaning, with bonded, insured, background-checked employees who work within building security and vendor requirements.
Cleaning for Lower Manhattan's office towers
The Financial District is defined by dense office buildings packed into a tight street grid: modern glass towers along Water Street, classic stone office buildings around Wall Street and Broad Street, and newer waterfront offices in Battery Park City near Brookfield Place. Tenants range from banks, trading and investment firms to law firms, insurance companies and the professional services that support them.
Many older pre-war office buildings in the district have been converted to residential use, which means a single block can mix commercial tenants, residential lobbies and ground-floor retail. Each building runs its own vendor program, and a cleaning scope has to fit the building as much as the tenant.
Building security, COIs and vendor approval
FiDi buildings are among the most controlled in Manhattan. Vendors are usually screened at a security desk, routed through a service entrance and booked onto the freight elevator, and most property managers require a certificate of insurance naming the owner and managing agent before a crew is allowed upstairs.
Citywide is bonded and carries full liability and workers’ compensation insurance. Every cleaner is a Citywide employee, background-checked and in uniform, so the names on the building’s access list are the people who actually show up. We collect your building’s vendor requirements during the walkthrough and coordinate paperwork before the first shift.
- Certificates of insurance issued to building requirements
- Employees, not subcontractors
- Background-checked, uniformed staff
- Freight elevator and loading dock bookings coordinated in advance

Scheduling around the FiDi work week
Most work happens outside trading and business hours. Common patterns we plan with tenants and property managers:
| Work type | Typical window |
|---|---|
| Nightly office cleaning | Weeknights after the floor empties |
| Lobby and entrance touch-ups | Early morning before the commute peak |
| Carpet extraction and floor refinishing | Weekends, when freight elevators are easier to book |
| Post-renovation cleaning | Per the building's construction and move-in schedule |
| Exterior and storefront glass | Early morning or weekend, depending on access |
Winter, wind and waterfront grime
Lower Manhattan’s narrow streets and waterfront wind push grit, salt and slush into lobbies all winter. Walk-off mats and stone floors take the most punishment, and salt residue left on marble or terrazzo dulls the finish quickly. We schedule extra entrance attention through the season and periodic floor care to restore lobby floors in spring, alongside regular carpet cleaning for office floors.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Straight answers to the questions facility and office managers ask us most.
Have a question that is not here? Call (917) 842-4644 or request a proposal.
Can you provide a certificate of insurance for our Financial District building?
Yes. Citywide is bonded and carries full liability and workers' compensation insurance. Send us your building's COI requirements, including additional insureds, and we will arrange the certificate before work begins.
Do you work weekends in Lower Manhattan?
Yes. Citywide crews are available 24/7, so we can schedule carpet extraction, floor refinishing or post-renovation cleaning on weekends when freight elevators are free and floors are empty.
Who will have access to our office after hours?
Only Citywide employees. We do not subcontract any of our work, every employee is background-checked, and staff arrive in uniform so building security can verify them against the access list.
Do you clean in Battery Park City and around Brookfield Place?
Yes. Battery Park City is part of our Financial District service area, including offices, retail and other commercial spaces along the waterfront.
Can you clean marble lobby floors?
Yes. Citywide cleans, polishes and seals natural stone such as marble, granite, limestone and terrazzo, and can schedule the work overnight or on weekends to keep lobbies open during business hours.
